This Privacy Policy explains how Jamtown Entertainment Inc., doing business as ("DBA") TEX Media ("TEX," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the TEX application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide

Account information: your email address, password (stored in encrypted/hashed form by our authentication provider), and screen name.
Profile and personal information (optional): full name, contact email, phone number, age, location, favorite foods, favorite places, and any other details you choose to add. You control which of these are visible on your public profile through per-field visibility settings.
Emergency information (optional): if you enable Emergency Features, the emergency contact name and phone number you provide, and any "close friends" you designate within the Service.
Trip and community content: trips you create or join, chat messages, direct messages, local suggestions, ratings, prizes, and other content you submit.
Reports: if you report a user or content, the information you submit with that report.

b. Information collected automatically

Location information: if you use the Emergency Features or (where offered) location-based features, we collect your device's approximate or precise location at the time you use those features. We do not continuously track your location in the background.
Usage and device information: basic technical data such as app interactions, device type, and log information, collected to operate and improve the Service.

c. Information from third parties

Our infrastructure and authentication providers (see Section 6) may provide us technical information necessary to operate the Service.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to: - Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (for example, showing your messages to members of your trip, or your public profile fields to other members); - Enable safety features, including reporting, blocking, moderation, and — when you enable them — Emergency Features and location sharing; - Communicate with you, including sending in-app notifications; - Enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines, and detect, prevent, and address violations, fraud, abuse, and security issues; - Process payments and manage subscriptions and add-ons (handled through the applicable app store); - Comply with legal obligations.

4. Location Data — How We Handle It

Location data is treated as sensitive. We collect location only when you actively use a feature that requires it (such as pressing the emergency button), and only if you have granted the necessary device permissions. When you trigger an Emergency Feature, your approximate location may be shared with the recipients you have configured — such as your emergency contact, your trip group, your designated close friends, and/or TEX — for the purpose of that alert. We do not sell your location data, and we do not track your location in the background.

5. Emergency Features and Contacts

If you enable Emergency Features, the emergency contact and close-friend information you provide is stored to enable those features. When you trigger an alert, we facilitate delivery of your message and location to your configured recipients. Please see the Emergency Features disclaimer in our Terms of Service — these features are best-effort and not a substitute for contacting emergency services directly. You are responsible for ensuring your emergency contacts are aware they may receive alerts.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

With other users, as directed by you: your screen name and messages are visible to members of your trips; your public profile fields are visible according to your visibility settings; emergency alerts are shared with recipients you configure.
With service providers: we use trusted third parties to operate the Service, including:
Google Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database, and hosting infrastructure;
Giphy — GIF search and delivery;
Mapping/places providers — for location and, where offered, place-discovery features;
App stores (Apple, Google) — payment processing for purchases and subscriptions. These providers process information on our behalf and are subject to their own privacy terms.
For legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of TEX, our users, or the public.
In a business transfer: if TEX is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where retention is required or permitted by law. Some content you shared (such as messages within a trip) may remain visible to other members even after account deletion, and backups may persist for a limited period.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Access and update: you can view and update your profile and personal information in the app.
Visibility controls: you control which profile fields are public through per-field settings.
Account deletion: you can delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your profile information as described in Section 7.
Permissions: you can control location and notification permissions through your device settings.
Regional rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to or restrict certain processing (e.g., under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA). 9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls enforced through our infrastructure provider. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact info@TexMedia.Online.

11. International Users

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside these countries, you understand your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country with different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we will implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

The Service may reference or link to third-party services or content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
